Job Description

Job Title: Shadow Teacher (Early Childhood Special Education Support)

Location: Abu Dhabi (Muroor road)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Shadow Teacher to provide one‑to‑one support for our 3.5‑year‑old daughter. The ideal candidate will work closely with our family and the child’s learning environment to ensure individualized educational support and holistic development, following ADEK guidelines and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Individualized Support:
Provide tailored, one‑to‑one assistance in academic, social, and developmental activities, ensuring that learning objectives as outlined by ADEK are met.

Classroom & Home Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, therapists, and parents to develop and implement an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or equivalent, ensuring consistency between school and home settings.

Developmental Monitoring:
Observe and document the child’s progress in communication, motor skills, and social interaction, and provide feedback to educators and parents.

Adapted Learning Strategies:
Utilize evidence‑based and ADEK‑approved teaching methodologies to support early childhood development, adapting techniques as needed to suit the child’s learning pace and style.

Behavioral Support:
Assist in managing and understanding behavioral cues, implementing positive reinforcement strategies in line with ADEK guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Educational Background:
* Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a closely related field.
* Certification or accreditation recognized by ADEK is preferred.

Experience:
* Proven experience working with young children, preferably in a shadow teaching or special education setting.
* Familiarity with early childhood developmental milestones and intervention strategies.

Skills & Attributes:
* Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
* Demonstrated patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong rapport with children and families.
* Knowledge of and commitment to upholding ADEK norms and early childhood educational standards.
* Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to dynamic learning environments.
