The job opening is for a post-doctoral fellow, as part of the UPAR-AUA proposal. Person specification is as follows: The postdoctoral fellow will work on the study related to breast cancer entitled, \u201cNAD kinase a potential therapeutic target in HER2 mediated oncogenesis\u201d. We are looking for a bright, motivated, dedicated individual with strong scientific, organizational, and inter-personal skills. He\/she will have PhD degree related to the biological sciences discipline. Experience in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry techniques is essential. Experience with some \u2013 but not necessarily all \u2013 of the following techniques: PCR, molecular cloning, viral transduction, gene editing, immunoblotting, cell culture, colony-formation assays, ex vivo and in vivo modeling of cancer, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, fluorescence-activated cell sorting, and next-generation sequencing library preparation. Experience in laboratory management and establishing lab infrastructure will be a distinct advantage and highly preferred. He\/she will have a great level of motivation and be able to work independently as well as in a team setting. Excellent fluency and communication in English will be critical for this position.<\/p>\n

Minimum Qualification<\/div>\n

PhD in any stream of life science (Microbiology, Biochemistry or Biotechnology<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Preferred Qualification<\/div>\n

Primary responsibilities of the post include the following: \u2022 Solid understanding of human cancer biology and genomics approaches including CRISPR screening. \u2022 Prior experience in biostatistics and\/or machine learning approaches. \u2022 Programming skills in at least one statistical computing software (e.g., R, Python, \u2022 The ability to meet deadlines and multitask efficiently is critical. \u2022 Strong data management skills. \u2022 Ability to maintain clear records and organized data that are conducive to bioinformatic analyses is essential. \u2022 Prior experience handling mice is essential. \u2022 Planning and managing own research activity. \u2022 Continually updating knowledge and understanding in the field. \u2022 Assisting in the development of student research skills. \u2022 Communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically. \u2022 Preparing and writing research papers. \u2022 Work with colleagues on joint projects. \u2022 Be reliable and well organized. \u2022 Able to work independently and as part of a team \u2022 Attending and contributing to relevant meetings\/conferences. \u2022 Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with scientists across disciplines from UAEU and other research centers. \u2022 Strong organizational techniques, including the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment \u2022 An outstanding academic track record \u2022 Supervising students.<\/p>\n

Expected Skills<\/div>\n

DNA, RNA and protein isolation. DNA PCR, qRT-PCR, western blotting. Immunohistochemisty, Immunofluorescence. Bacterial work, transformation etc. Should have the knowledge of using SPSS<\/a>, Image J and graph Prism software.<\/p>\n
